Why this question needs context
Repair estimates often combine diagnostic work, parts, labor, fees, and recommendations in language written for a shop workflow. That can make it hard to see whether two lines overlap or whether a similar service appears in your records.
A quote also lacks the personal timeline that matters to an owner: when related work was performed, at what mileage, by which shop, and what the prior document actually called it.
From uploaded estimate to understandable line items
You can upload a photo or PDF of a quote or estimate. CarLogic extracts the vehicle and shop details that are present and breaks a multi-item quote into individual services so each one can be reviewed separately.
The wording on the document remains important. A diagnostic charge, a recommended service, and completed work are different things even when they mention the same system.
Matching recommendations to prior services
CarLogic compares the extracted items with completed maintenance records associated with the selected vehicle. A match can show when similar work was recorded and how the name on the older receipt compares with the new wording.
When no matching record is found, CarLogic says that the available history does not show one. It does not claim the service was never performed.
Price context and questions for the shop
Price context is shown only when CarLogic has a basis it can present. Vehicle, location, scope, parts, labor, taxes, and fees can all change the total, so a range is context rather than a verdict.

How maintenance history changes the context
A dated, mileage-linked history can surface recent related work, recurring services, earlier recommendations, and gaps in the records.
The comparison is only as complete as the documents you provide and correct. A missing receipt is not proof that work did not happen.
